HER2-neu, the ERBB2 proto-oncogene encodes a transmembrane protein tyrosine kinase receptor, which are involved in the occurrence and development of many types of cancers, including ovarian cancer.37 Dysregulated HER2-neu signaling in EOC results from either gene amplification or overexpression, which leads to faster cell growth, DNA damage, and increased colony formation.12 The PI3K/AKT pathway is a major downstream signaling pathway of HER2-neu. Here, ERBB2 is linked to ovarian carcinoma.
