In chronic hepatitis, pro-tumorigenic inflammation, which is characterized by liver-infiltrating Th2 cells, regulatory T cells (Tregs), and M2 macrophages, as well as TNF-α, IL6, IL-1α and IL-1β expression, may induce persistent hepatocyte generation and survival, increasing the neoplastic transformation of hepatocytes [15–17]. This evidence concerns the gene TNF and chronic hepatitis.
