In estrogen-sensitive HO8910 cells, insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) and insulin-like growth factor binding protein-1 and 2 (IGFBP-1 and IGFBP-2), which have been considered to be estrogen-responsive genes and related to the malignancy and metastasis of ovarian cancer [29–31], were downregulated in WFDC2-knockdown cells in the protein array. Here, IGF1 is linked to ovarian carcinoma.
