The mRNA levels of the target genes were not associated with Gleason grade in the RP samples, but the expression levels of target genes were statistically significantly higher in samples from men with either stage pT3 or pT4 tumors (n = 72) than in samples from men with PCa classified as pT2 (n = 57) (AMACR, p = 0.006; AR, p = 0.005 and KLK3, p = 0.004). This evidence concerns the gene AR and posterior cortical atrophy.
