Immunohistochemical analysis showed markedly higher expression levels of Cdc7 protein in pancreatic ductal and ampullary cancers when compared with benign pancreatic disease, in which Cdc7 was detected in only very small numbers of cells (median LI 34.3%, IQR 28.6 to 63.4% vs. median LI 1.3%, IQR 0.3 to 2.9%; P<0.0001) (Figure 2). The gene discussed is CDC7; the disease is carcinoma of the ampulla of vater.
