APOBEC3A and breast carcinoma: Recently, through CNV GWAS, Long et al. [37] discovered a common CNV locus for breast cancer in Chinese women, which was located between exon 5 of APOBEC3A and exon 8 of APOBEC3B, resulting in a fusion gene with a protein sequence identical to APOBEC3A, but with a 3’-UTR of APOBEC3B. This deletion has been associated with increased BC risk in both Chinese and a Caucasian population with a population frequency of around 37 and 6 % respectively [37–39].
