Among the multiple effects of integrin signaling, we have recently delineated how the target integrins of cilengitide, αvβ3 and αvβ5, as well as αvβ8 integrin, may control activity of the transforming growth factor (TGF)-β pathway [17-19], which has been linked to the malignant phenotype of glioblastoma. This evidence concerns the gene TGFB1 and glioblastoma.
