The addition of SAPS liposomes at various times following viral infection suppressed the release of the proinflammatory cytokines, CXCL8 and CXCL10, as well as the interferon-stimulated gene CCL5/RANTES from epithelial cell lines and normal and diseased primary human bronchial epithelial cells. Here, CXCL8 is linked to viral infectious disease.
