The high concentration and expression of VEGF in the hematoma in the present case, similar to the previous report [6], as well as the microvascular endothelial proliferation in the hematoma capsule seen on immunohistochemical findings [5], suggest that angiogenesis and vascular permeability induced by VEGF might accelerate expansion of the hematoma. The gene discussed is VEGFA; the disease is hematoma.
