Given new evidence for its potential role in hypoxic injury and VEGF (an angiogenic growth factor) mediated disease, miR-210 expression was quantified in 56 patients with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and AD when compared to 42 healthy controls using quantitative PCR (Solerte et al., 2005; Liu et al., 2014; Zhu et al., 2015). The gene discussed is VEGFA; the disease is Alzheimer disease.
