Tctp has previously been associated with cell growth, including during bone development and cancer pathogenesis (Amson et al., 2012; Brioudes et al., 2010; Kaarbo et al., 2013; Miao et al., 2013; Zhang et al., 2008), and is suggested to function as a pro-survival factor through its interplay with the Bcl2 protein family (Liu et al., 2005; Susini et al., 2008; Yang et al., 2005; Zhang et al., 2002).
