These findings suggest a critical role for IFNα signaling and STAT2-mediated activation of IFITM1 in promoting the aggressiveness of triple-negative SUM149 IBC cells; however, additional studies need to be performed in other triple-negative inflammatory breast cancer (TNIBC) cell lines as well as in IBC tumors to validate the biological and clinical significance of these findings in IBC. This evidence concerns the gene IFNA2 and inflammatory breast carcinoma.
