WNT11 and hepatocellular carcinoma: 56 of these genes had a ≥ 2-fold change at both time points (Table 2, row 8), including down-regulation of Wnt11, an important regulator of cell fate that has been associated with development of HCC [57], and up-regulation of G0s2, which was originally described as a regulator of early stages of the cell cycle, but is now well established as being involved in the regulation of lipolysis and activation of apoptosis [58–60] (and reviewed in [61]).
