There is, throughout theliterature, a tremendous body of evidence indicating a wide range of different propertiesfor organosulfur compounds of garlic.17For instance, it has been shownthat diallyltrisulfide (DATS), a sulfur containing ingredientof garlic, induces apoptosis in human breast cancer cells (MCF-7) via ROS-mediatedactivation of JNK and AP-1.7Moreover, whenorallyadministeredat a concentration of 1–2 mg/day, thrice/week for 13 weeks, by DASTSmarkedly suppressed prostate carcinoma and pulmonary metastasis in mouse animal modelwithout any side effects.18 This evidence concerns the gene MAPK8 and breast carcinoma.
