An earlier study confirmed that metastasis associated lung adenocarcinoma transcript 1 (MALAT1), an 8.1-kb lncRNA transcribed from the nuclear-enriched transcript 2 (NEAT2), is upregulated in colorectal cancer (CRC) and that it promotes cell proliferation, migration and invasion in vitro by enhancing a kinase (PRKA) anchor protein 9 (AKAP-9) expression [9]. The gene discussed is MALAT1; the disease is colorectal cancer.
