As shown in Fig 3C, the mRNA levels of fatty aldehyde dehydrogenase (FALDH), which catalyzes the formation of hexadecenoic acid from hexadecenal and phosphoethanolamine cytidyltransferase (CTP), which in turn catalyzes the formation of CDP-ethanolamine from phosphoethanolamine, were increased in HCC tissues compared with non-tumorous tissues. Here, ALDH3A2 is linked to hepatocellular carcinoma.
