IL10 and type 2 diabetes mellitus: To determine how T2D in vivo impacted IL10 function, we first examined the ability of IL10 to inhibit pro-inflammatory cytokine secretion from whole blood cultures prepared from patients diagnosed with T2D (n = 24, fasting glucose >7.0 mmol/L and/or haemoglobin A1C >6.4%) compared to non-T2D (n = 22) age and body mass index (BMI)-matched controls.
