Reduction of the migratory phenotype by forced expression of S100A8/A9 was consistent with diminished in vitro migration using a wound healing model and invasion in Matrigel coated transwell assays of KB-S100A8/A9 and TR146 HNSCC cells when compared to KB-EGFP and TR146-shS100A8/A9KD knockdown cells, as we recently reported [2]. The gene discussed is S100A8; the disease is head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
