CRP and diabetes mellitus: Overweight/obese phenotypes were also more likely to be older, less well educated, and cigarette smoking, had lower incomes but more frequent family history of diabetes, and showed significantly elevated mean values of total cholesterol, triglycerides, HDLC, fasting glucose and insulin, HOMA IR, HbA1c, CRP, blood pressure, BMI, WC, WHR, and body fat percentage compared with normal weight phenotypes (all Ps < 0.05).
