Another explanation could be that cancer cells secrete many chemokines such as IL6 and IL8 and can stimulate migration in cancer cells; thus, the decreased IL6 and IL8 expression observed in this study (data not shown) suggest that it is associated with the decrease in cancer survival genes such as BCL-2, BCL-XL, MMP-2, and MMP-9.
