Breast cancer contains many subtypes, including luminal A, luminal B, HER2-enriched, basal-like and normal-like, and the alterations of miRNAs maybe subtype specific.19, 20 According to the differential expression profile of miRNAs in individual breast cancer patients and the known subtype labels of breast cancer, we tested whether deregulation of miRNAs tended to be in specific subtypes by hypergeometric distribution model. This evidence concerns the gene ERBB2 and breast carcinoma.
