Despite some controversy, targeting death-receptor-mediated apoptosis appears to be still a viable option for the treatment of glioblastoma, since recent results suggest that a small-molecule inducer of TRAIL (ONC201/TIC10), which is capable to cross the blood brain barrier, prolongs animal survival singly and in combination with bevacizumab [50]. This evidence concerns the gene TNFSF10 and glioblastoma.
