The authors used perilipin (PLIN-1) and adipophilin (PLIN-2) markers to detect, respectively, adipocyte or cardiomyocytes LDs and reported that while PLIN-2 was detected in all subjects, about 39% of both CAD and non-CAD patients expressed PLIN-1, showing apparently no relationship in tissue fat distribution between patients and controls. Here, PLIN2 is linked to coronary artery disorder.
