Several matricryptins such as the propeptide of lysyl oxidase, which is a tumor suppressor (Min et al., 2007; Ozdener et al., 2015) and the netrin-like domain of procollagen C-proteinase enhancer-1, a new anti-angiogenic matricryptin (Salza et al., 2014), warrant further investigation in angiogenesis, and tumor models to decipher their mechanisms of action at the molecular and cellular levels. The gene discussed is PCOLCE; the disease is neoplasm.
