Interestingly, Chinese mistletoe lectin-I (CMI) has been firstly reported to induce apoptotic cell death in colorectal cancer cells, by down-regulating miR-135a and miR-135b expression and up-regulating expression of their target gene adenomatous polyposis coli (APC), thereby, reducing activity of its downstream Wnt signaling [10]. Here, APC is linked to colorectal cancer.
