ELOVL6 and neoplasm: To investigate whether chemical inhibition of ELOVL6 may have potential for therapeutic intervention, we examined the impact of Compound A on tumor growth in vitro and in mouse models in vivo. Surprisingly, despite the major changes in lipid composition, inhibition of ELOVL6 by Compound A did not result in any significant difference in cell proliferation, both in 2427PT cells and in H2170 cells grown as a monolayer on a solid surface (Figure 8A and 8B).
