Of direct clinical relevance, reduced endogenous GAS5 lncRNA expression, such as occurs in breast cancer and many other tumours [11 – 14], attenuates cellular responses to apoptotic inducers, including UV-C and various chemotherapeutic agents [13, 14]; the GAS5 HREM was able to restore breast cancer cell sensitivity, as demonstrated here for UV-C irradiation.
