Very recently, a toxin BmKCL1 has also been identified as a chlorotoxin-like peptide (68% identity), which inhibits tumour metastasis by inhibiting the current of glioma-specific chloride channel (GCC) and at least two other toxin-binding proteins (35 kDa and 80 kDa) inhibiting the proliferation of glioma cell [39,40]. This evidence concerns the gene GUCY2C and central nervous system cancer.
