Together, these data indicate that eIF4B functions downstream of STAT/Pim and PI3K/Akt/mTOR signaling in Abl transformants, and Ser422 phosphorylation is associated with synergic inhibitory effects on cell survival and tumor growth induced by combined blockage of Pim and PI3K/Akt/mTOR pathways. The gene discussed is SOAT1; the disease is neoplasm.
