PAX5 and neoplasm: Tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases are specific inhibitors of MMPs, which inhibit the catalytic activity of MMPs through its amino‐terminal domain 32 Our results showed that re‐expression of PAX5 increased the TIMP2 mRNA level and inhibited the transcription of MMP2, MMP7, MMP9, suggesting that PAX5 can inhibit tumour invasion and metastasis through modulating these tissue remodelling enzymes.
