Taking advantage of this tool, we discovered KCNK9's pivotal role in promoting cancer cell survival and growth, and that monoclonal antibody-based targeting of KCNK9 has therapeutic promise in the treatment of primary tumour and metastasis, through inhibiting KCNK9 channel function and/or activating anti-tumour immune responses.
