Regulation of the gene expression of DcR1 and DR4/5 in L3.6pl incubated with both TRAIL and JNKi for 24 hours strengthens the concept that JNK inhibition counteracts increased expression of DcR1 and decreased DR4 (not seen at DR5) level following TRAIL treatment thereby enabling TRAIL to induce apoptosis in the adherent and pancreatic cancer stem cells (Figure 3D, lower panel).
