Given that the percentages of activated and memory CD8+ cells, particularly for IFN-γ-secreting CD8+ cells in the tumor tissues are associated positively with the survival of patients with CRC, but negatively with the metastasis of CRC40, 41, the increased frequency of activated/memory MAIT cells in the tumor tissues may participate in anti-tumor immunity against CRC and be associated with the survival of CRC patients. This evidence concerns the gene IFNG and colorectal carcinoma.
