The mRNA levels of three out of six genes we tested (SLC2A3, GPI, and PDK3) were selectively decreased by PRDX2 and PRDX4 during prolonged hypoxia, suggesting that PRDX2 and PRDX4 may be negative regulators of glucose reprogramming in cancer cells exposed to prolonged hypoxia. The gene discussed is GPI; the disease is cancer.
