GPI and neoplasm: Accumulation of fatty-acylcarnitines in preneoplastic tissues of Gp-I and III mice (at 25–30 weeks) and in Gp-II animals (at 35–40 weeks) is due to the upregulation of CPT 1 and may lead to the increased availability of the fatty acids to meet the energy demands of the preneoplastic tissue which was predisposed to tumor formation.
