RET and neuroblastoma: Elegant studies performed by Griseri et al [31,32] demonstrated that the rs3026785 is located next to the AUUUA sequence and showed that a single nucleotide substitution may influence the secondary structure of RET mRNA decreasing RET mRNA degradation in human neuroblastoma cells, leading to increases of transcription product and, probably, in the amount of total RET protein at the cell membrane [31,32].
