By using a HCC patient cohort, we further demonstrated that BNC1 was remarkably down-regulated in HCC tissues, which was largely contributed by DNA methylation of BNC1. In addition, we noticed that histone deacetylation inhibitor TSA also could increase the BNC1 expression in HCC cell lines, suggesting that other mechanisms including the histone deacetylation modulation may lead to the reduced expression of BNC1 in HCC. This evidence concerns the gene BNC1 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
