Since that deficiency of lysosomal Ca2+ release pathologically attributes to the lysosome lipid deposition in mucolipidosis type IV disease and that intracellular lipid buildup during atherosclerosis has the characteristics of acquired lysosomal storage disorders, we thereby proceeded to inspect lysosomal lipid accumulation in CD38/NAADP Ca2+ signalling disrupted macrophages. Here, CD38 is linked to lysosomal storage disease.
