MiRNAs (miR-21, miR-221, miR-2226, and miR-2247) are consistently up-regulated in the tumors of HCC patients and were reported to dys-regulate proliferation6, 8, 9 and/or apoptosis7, 10 through targeting various molecules including PTEN6, SMAD49, CDKN1B/p27, and CDKN1C/p578. This evidence concerns the gene CDKN1B and hepatocellular carcinoma.
