When genes associated with AR expression were queried against ARGD [Androgen responsive gene database (http://argdb.fudan.edu.cn/geneshow_basic.php)], which contains 3321 androgen responsive protein coding genes (experimentally proved to be regulated by androgen at the RNA or protein level or proved to contain one or more transcription regulatory regions that could be bound by AR or mediate the response of reporter genes to androgen), 81 out of 191 (50%) or 2 out of 8 (25%) genes positively or negatively associated with AR in ccRCC, respectively, were found in the database. The gene discussed is AR; the disease is nonpapillary renal cell carcinoma.
