In cancer, the perturbed expression of key TFs establishes novel super-enhancers that drive oncogene expression, a scenario that we partially delineated through the identification of FOXQ1 as a putative factor driving the differential DNA methylation at colorectal cancer-specific super-enhancers and the overexpression of key oncogenes, such as MYC and RNF43. This evidence concerns the gene RNF43 and colorectal cancer.
