Recent studies have revealed that the unique abnormalities of coagulation and fibrinolytic function are associated with increased amounts of tissue factor(TF), cancer procoagulant (CP) as well as elements of the fibrinolytic system, including tissue plasminogen activator, annexin A2, and plasminogen activator inhibitor type 1 expressed by leukemic promyelocytes in APL [20]. The gene discussed is CP; the disease is cancer.
