Analogous to the in vitro experiments, an increased expression of PARP1 was observed in tissues that had been exposed to 10 Gy leading to higher PARP1 expression levels in individual nuclei (Fig 6B), with relative intensities of 114 ± 21% (24 hours post irradiation) and 147 ± 38% (48 hours post irradiation) compared to non-irradiated (0 Gy) tumor tissues. This evidence concerns the gene PARP1 and neoplasm.
