In a recent microarray study we found that that the expressions of Lox, Loxl1, and Loxl2 increased in orthotopic rat prostate AT-1 tumours and in the tumour-adjacent normal prostate tissue compared to tumour-free control rat prostate tissue, suggesting that these enzymes may have a role in tumour progression or tumour defence in prostate cancer35. Here, LOX is linked to prostatitis.
