hnRNPK is a RNA-binding nuclear protein involved in chromatin remodelling, transcription, splicing, translation and mRNA stability,10 overexpressed and aberrantly localized in the cytoplasm in colorectal cancers.11 Indeed, transfecting p65BTK-encoding plasmids progressively deleted of the hnRNPK binding sites hampered its overexpression (Figure 2c). The gene discussed is HNRNPK; the disease is colorectal cancer.
