When fucosylated oligosaccharides were administered to the C. rodentium-infected IL-22RA1-deficient mice, infection was attenuated and the bacterial diversity of commensals was restored, demonstrating that IL-22RA1 mediates antimicrobial activities and intestinal fucosylation as in Figure 1 and (Pham et al., 2014).
