All these effects are postulated to stem from BK-induced endothelium-mediated vasodilation, mainly by stimulation of B2Rs. Consequently, B2R agonists may have important clinical value in the treatment and prevention of various cardiovascular disorders such as hypertension, ischaemic heart disease and other, by mimicking the reported beneficial effects of BK (Heitsch, 2003). Here, BDKRB2 is linked to hypertensive disorder.
