In contrast to the increase in inhibitory receptor/ligands noted in CD8 T cells, there was a significant decrease in the percentage of CD4 T cells expressing CD28, a major positive co-stimulatory molecule, in patients with Candidemia compared to controls, 79.8 % versus 92.6 %, respectively; p <0.05, (Fig. 3).
