Although there was no difference in the percentage of CD8 T cells that were positive for PD-1 in patients with Candidemia versus control patients, patients with Candidemia did have an increase in the geometric mean fluorescence intensity (GMFI), indicating that the cells which were positive for PD-1 had an increase in the number of PD-1 molecules on a per cell basis; (p <0.05), (Fig. 1).
