In the present study, we therefore tested the hypothesis that HGF is increased in the circulating anti-inflammatory monocytes of patients with T2D and we determined the gene expression level of HGF (and the HGF-R, cMET) in the monocytes of our patients with T2D and investigated whether HGF belonged to the cluster of typical inflammatory compound genes or to the clusters of typical adhesion, migration and differentiation genes. The gene discussed is MET; the disease is type 2 diabetes mellitus.
