CXCL10 and endometriosis: In humans, IP-10 has been reported to attract monocytes and T lymphocytes, as well as decrease angiogenesis.37, 38 A decrease in IP-10 peritoneal levels has been reported in advanced stages of endometriosis in patients, and thus decreased levels of IP-10 may contribute to lesion development, permitting angiogenesis, and decreasing recruitment of natural killer cells and their cytolytic effects.39 Therefore, an increase in peritoneal IP-10 levels in HCQ-treated mice may have created an unfavorable environment for lesion development.
